EDITmOR is a desk accessory made specifically for the programmer who is forced to use a text editor not of his choice. Using this utility, the programmer can easily and quickly design features absent from the editor he is using and implement them within the program.
To use this utility, simply select it from the Apple (DA) menu (as you have found out already). If you are using MultiFinder, you should hold down the option key while doing so. This will open the DA within the current application only. The EDITmOR menu will appear in the menu bar, allowing you to make several choices.
Help:
This function displays the dialog you now see. The popup menu at the top of the dialog allows you to select what information you wish to see. Click on the shaded box and select what information you wish to read, using the same methods as you would if you were choosing from a regular menu.
The help dialog is a scrollable window, (see the scroll bar which you had to click to read this at right). There are a number of keyboard combinations for using this dialog:
Page up key: scrolls up one screen
Page down key: scrolls down one screen
Home key: scrolls to top of text
End key: scrolls so that the bottom line of text is at the bottom of the box
Up arrow, ‘<’ key: scrolls up one line
Down arrow, ‘<’ key: scrolls down one line
Return, enter, ‘O’, ‘Q’, ‘.’: closes the help dialog
Quit:
Closes the desk accessory.
The menu items thereafter are external commands which should be discussed in help items hereafter.
